London Fashion Week has opened in a blur of glamour on the catwalk and celebrity in the aisles. Designer Jonathan Saunders showed the reasons why he has won awards for his striking print designs.[See Photos]

Forty-five designers are showing during the five-day event. Ben de Lisi filled his catwalk with flowing pale and light creations.

Dane Jens Laugesen chose stark black and white and single, bright colours. He sent models daubed in red paint down a fluorescent-lit catwalk.

Jamaican-born, London-based Jessica Ogden gave her models colourful wool hair-pieces in the manner of a photographer who documented Mali women in the 1950s.

In a decade, London Fashion Week has grown into an event that attracts thousands of buyers, journalists and photographers.
